Polyrhythmics Eugene Concert reviews
Train rocked the first stop of their tour
Pat's AMAZING voice was on full display during a song that he sang without the microphone at the beginning. A small group of fans, except for some obnoxious drunks, sang along. They seemed grateful for the fan following and played all their major hits, intertwining Black Water by the Doobie Brothers into a medley with one of their songs, doing an amazing Led Zeppelin cover and even performing Toxic by Britney Spears. The opening act, who I hadn't heard of other than the "Bed is on fire" song from American Pie, was also good. The show, which I wished had started sooner, didn't disappoint as it was really great. I am not familiar with their most recent CD except for Hey Soul Sister, yet I knew almost all the songs they performed. A longtime fan of Polyrhythmics, this was my first of their shows. It was great seeing them in an intimate venue. The doors were supposed to open at 8, but we didn't get in until 8:30. The opening band started at 9, and Polyrhythmics didn't go on stage until 9:30/10ish, playing until after midnight. Unfortunately, a few idiots got so wasted they couldn't appreciate the show and were shouting at inappropriate times. But hey, it was still FAB!
